I am a self-taught artist doing what I love . The natural element of my sculptures was initially inspired from living in the mountains of southwest Colorado. It was a gorgeous place to live, however my heart has always belonged by the sea. I find endless inspiration in the beauty of southwest Florida, the way the waves wash up on shore, the spirals of a sea shell. My studio operates outside the confines of time, although it is physically located in Nokomis, Florida, where I live with my beloved husband, parrot, adopted rescue dogs and fish.
I have loved sculpture since I was in pre-school, always fascinated throughout childhood with Play-doh and Silly Putty (and still am). My other fascination is the behavior of animals, which led to a Zoology degree from Arizona State University. During that time, I continued to make art inspired by whatever my current scenery was...the deserts of Arizona, the beaches of California, the mountains of Colorado and currently the beauty of southwest Florida.
I am abundantly blessed with much love from my family and friends. They support me in being my wonderfully weird self and fuel my days with overflowing love that is then expressed in my art.
I am grateful for my spiritually artistic friends/mentors Alison Goss and David Mallin.
Their souls and artistic gifts shine so brightly that they helped illuminate my path
even when I could not see beyond the darkness.
