I am amazed at the twists and turns of life that lead us places we never imagined. I have had many times of darkness throughout my life, and these experiences have led me to light. When I openly express myself, it manifests in light, and I find the most joy in creating light sculptures. I've been drawn to making lamps for years, and have collected materials as I find them. My house is full of random branches and odd things overflowing in every corner, waiting to become part of a sculpture.

There is something so awe-inspiring about the way the handmade papers, branches and light are coming together in these Illuminaries, producing a creation that defies words. When I look at them, my heart space opens and a sense of wonder flows over me. The fluid nature of the lamps inspires me to relinquish control of my own life, to live more freely in the flow of things. As I create the light sculptures, I keep my mind mostly disengaged while the character of each lamp appears in its own time. It is a tremendously liberating process for me during creation, and has helped me heal in numerous ways.

The light sculptures seem to have a unique effect on people, inspiring a sense of wonder. I hope they ease you into calm, peaceful states of love and joy.  Illuminaries contribute beautifully to healing environments, and are featured in treatment rooms of the Durango Cancer Center, massage therapy and chiropractic offices.  They provide soft mood lighting perfect for healing centers and yoga rooms. 

I also love creating bronze sculptures that flow with curves and fluid lines.  Each bronze is a  limited edition, and all light sculptures are one of a kind.  I play with the light and shadows of each piece, as I think our shadows make everything much more rich, complex and beautiful.
